Minor Hartley of 1812 Hampton Street died at his home Sunday morning after a year of declining health and a serious illness of two days.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Church of God with the Rev. G. W. Cooper and the Rev. E. W. Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Churchyard of Gourdin Chapel Methodist Church under the direction of Mayer Funeral Home.
Mr. Hartley, a son of the late Jim Hartley and the late Mrs. Sissy Ward Hartley, was born in Berkeley County, June 12, 1892. He lived in that area until he came to make his home in Georgetown about 21 years ago. He farmed on the Kaminiski Farms until this year. Mr. Hartley was a member of the Georgetown Church of God.
Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Maggie Hartley Hartley of Georgetown; three sons, Minor Hartley Jr. of Union, Archie and Hennison Hartley, both of Georgetown; six daughters, Mrs. Lucille Michau, Mrs. Ethel Lambert, and Miss Mamie Hartley, all of Georgetown, Mrs. Valley Britt of Jamestown, Mrs. Dorothy Ward of Allendale, and Mrs. Elizabeth Abner of Hubert, N.C.; and 28 grandchildren.
