Paul P. Krasucki Sr., 73, of Roaring Brook Township, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010, at the Community Medical Center, Scranton. He was born in Wilkes-Barre on March 23, 1937, a son of the late Henry and Helen Baranowski Krasucki. He was a graduate of Nanticoke Area High School, class of 1955, and he attended Wilkes College. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1960 to 1963. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a pipefitter with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local No. 524. Paul was a member of St. Eulalia's Church in Elmhurst and a former member of Holy Rosary Church in Wilkes-Barre, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and served as an usher. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 132, Wilkes-Barre, and a member of the R.S.E.S. Paul was an avid gardener and sports fan. He loved his Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles and Penn State football. He was also an avid softball player for many years. Surviving are his wife, Mary Minetola Krasucki, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 10, 2011; sons Paul Krasucki Jr. and his wife, Lisa, Jacksonville, Ill., and Patrick Krasucki and his fiancée, Helen Wheeler, Sugar Notch; daughter Carmela Smith and her husband, Thomas, Roaring Brook Township, with whom he resided; grandchildren, Patrick, Shelby and Kara Krasucki and Andrew, Eric and Brian Smith; great-grandson Dylan Krasucki; brothers, Henry Krasucki Jr., Wolcott, N.Y., and Joseph Krasucki, Nashua, N.H.; as well as nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
