Stockbridge – Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Sheriff, who died at Chandler, Arizona, last week, were held Saturday afternoon at the M. E. church with the Rev. Roy Curtiss officiating. Interment was in the Lakeside cemetery.

Mrs. Sheriff, nee Mary Kiesner, was born in Kloten, June 7, 1864, and was married to Charles Hawley. The union was blessed with one child, a son, Fred Hawley, now living at Minn. Mrs. Sheriff was married to Adam Sheriff, Feb. 2, 1886 in Mensaha. The couple lived in Stockbridge, Oconto County, Kaukauna and then returned to Stockbridge where Mr. Sheriff died in 1928.

They had nine children, only four of whom are living, Mrs. Elmer Todd, Arizona; Ralph, Chicago; Mrs. Lewis Crowley, Oak Part and Clarence, Arizona. Fifteen grandchildren also survive, and two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Reif, Green Bay and Mrs. Molly Hawley, Stockbridge; and a brother, John Kiesner, Harrison.

Accompanied by her son, Clarence, Mrs. Sheriff left for Arkansas, Nov. 10, 1938, where they spent the winter. In April they went to Arizona.
