Dead – Mr. John Kisner, a well known German blacksmith and a prominent citizen, in the German settlement of Stockbridge departed this life on the 13th of May 1872. He was a good man, his birth place was Rinestlorf, Ober Schlisien, Prussia and his age was 46 years. His funeral was largely attended. A circumstance about his death was peculiar. He visited Chilton, drank considerable beer and claimed he was poisoned by the beer. This would be a serious charge were it not that it is impossible to believe it. Singular to relate that on May 16th, the barn of the lamented deceased was burned to the ground and a new wagon, 2 good plows as well as an excellent buggy perished. Now the question is; "What's the matter?"
If there has been a case of poisoning, we want the proper authorities to investigate the affairs, as we do not believe there is anything wrong in Chilton beer.
