Born August 19, 1929, in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Paul F. and Mary D. (Smith) Golden.
Doris was a 1947 graduate of Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown and was retired from Herff Jones in Gettysburg.
She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Bonneauville and their Parish Council of Catholic Women, and a member of the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary, Bonneauville.
Surviving are five children, Lorie Keeney and husband, Rick of Littlestown, Jeff Small and wife, Vivian of Gettysburg, Karen Martin and husband, Bruce of Spring Grove, Brad Small and wife, Sandi of New Oxford, and David "Jake" Small and wife, Kathleen of Bonneauville; a daughter-in-law, Marion Small of McSherrystown; five step-children, Margaret Thomas of Hanover, Barbara Krug of Fayetteville, Dennis Smith of Littlestown, Gregory Smith and Donna Sanders, both of Bonneauville; a brother, Robert J. Golden of Gettysburg; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, James R. Small Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Diane Small; a granddaughter, Justina Small; and by a brother, Paul Rodney Golden.
Interment: St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Bonneauville.
