Embry Eugene Cole passed away in Texarkana Arkansas where he had lived the last couple of yeay

Embry was born on March 30th, 1926 in Rowell Arkansas to the parents of the late Alvin Lee Cole and Faye Covington Cole.

He went to Woodlawn school where he was a star basketball player. Embry was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and hunter. He had a green thumb, and raised big gardens throughout his life.

Embry was a caretaker for his beloved wife during her ailing years until her death from Alzheimer's disease.

He began working as a lumberjack when he was only sixteen years old. Then became a farmer and cattleman on his own land located in Rowell Arkansas on Rowell Road East. Later on he started working at Pine Bluff Arsenal. He pipefitted and welded all over the US. Before his retirement he was foreman at International Paper Mill in Pine Bluff Arkansas. He worked under local 665 of Pine Bluff, and later under local 165 of Little Rock. Embry enjoyed watching western movies, football, basketball and reading the paper up until his death.

He was known by everyone for his honesty, integrity, work ethic and his love for his family. Admired and respected by all of the people who worked with him and under him.He was a great, one of a kind man.

Embry was preceded in death by his parents Alvin Lee Cole and Faye Covington Cole; his paternal grandparents John William Cole and Mary Francis Pennington Cole; his maternal grandparents John Henry Covington and Ida Oaks Covington; his beloved wife of 64 years Ellen Marie Jacks Cole; his brothers Earl Cole, Raymond Cole, and Bobby Ray Cole; his sisters Mattie Ester Vinson, Lorene Vinson, Sybil Beard, Mereline
Morgan, and Imogene Cole; also his beloved grandson Bradford Cole Pittman.

Embry is survived by his daughter Patsy Pittman, grandson James Scott Pittman, granddaughter Shea Lynn Garner, his bonus grandson Jeremy Garner and his great-granddaughters Ashlyn Garner and Madalee Garner; also many numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 4 at Memorial Park Cemetery Pine Bluff with Pastor Jackie Richardson officiating under the direction of East Funeral Home of Texarkana. The public are invited.
