COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Lydia T. Long, 62, of Mount Juliet, will be held Monday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. at Crest Lawn Funeral Home in Cookeville. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends today, Sunday, Sept. 7, from 1-8 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Mrs. Long died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at the Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
She was born Aug. 31, 1946, in Silver Point to David P. Thomas and the late Alene Maxwell Thomas.
Mrs. Long worked as an insurance policy analyst for 42 years with several companies, including Union Standard Insurance Co., L.W. Legg Insurance Co., SafeCo Insurance, Royal Globe, Grange, CNA Insurance and Harleyville Insurance. She was a member of the Center Chapel Church of Christ in Mt. Juliet. Mrs. Long was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
In addition to her father, her family includes her husband, Fred H. Long of Mt. Juliet; a daughter and soninlaw, Tonya Gayle and Wesley Robinson of Cookeville; a son and daughterinlaw, Kevin Paul and DeDe Long of Mt. Juliet; a sister, Yvonne Ballard of Algood; two brothers, Ted Mackie Thomas of Nashville and Tim Taylor Thomas of Cookeville; a granddaughter, Keri Anne Long of Mt. Juliet; a grandson, Tanner Alan Long of Mt. Juliet; a stepgranddaughter, Emily Robinson of Murfreesboro; a stepgrandson, Cody Robinson of Murfreesboro; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
