COOKEVILLE — Funeral services for David Paul Thomas, 84, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 27, and again Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Mr. Thomas passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Hospice House in Crossville. He was born Sept.13, 1928, in Silver Point to late Maudie (Herren) Thomas and E. J. Thomas. Mr. Thomas was self-employed as a heavy equipment operator for most of his life and was with TDOT for last seven years until his retirement. He was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ. He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many friends.

His family includes his late wife of 64 years, Alene Maxwell Thomas; daughters and sonsinlaw, Yvonne Thomas Ballard and R.H. of Algood, the late Lydia Thomas and Fred of Nashville; sons and daughtersinlaw, Ted Thomas and Kim of Nashville and Tim Thomas and Pam of Cookeville; granddaughters, Tina Faith, Tracy Crain, DeAnna Loftis, Tonya Robinson and Wesley, Brandy Minnear and Brandy Plant;
grandsons, Kevin Long and Dede, Lloyd Steel, Chad Thomas and Deedee, Mark Thomas and Debbie, Eric Thomas and Carrie, Casey Thomas and the late Brandon Thomas and Kristie; sisters, Reba Jo Medley of Baxter, Gail Tucker of Silver Point and the late Pearl Anderson; two late brothers, Jessie Arvin Thomas and Marvin Thomas; 25 great grandchildren; six greatgreatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
