Frank Clayton Ball, 85, president of Ball Brothers Company, and widely known capitalist and philanthropist, died in his home in Minnetrista Boulevard Friday about 1:15 a.m. after an illness of several weeks. Until he was taken ill in February, Mr. Ball, who would have been 86 years of age November 24, was active in the business that he and his four brothers founded. With the death of Mr. Ball, only one of the five famous brothers, George A., remains.

Along with the brother, surviving are the widow, Elizabeth Brady Ball; a son, Major E. Arthur Ball, who is on duty in North Africa; three daughters, Mrs. Alvin M. Owsley, Mrs. Fred J. Petty, and Mrs. Alexander M. Bracken; seven grandchildren, George Alexander Ball II, Thomas David Owsley, Alvin M. Owsley Jr., Edmund F. Petty, Thomas Bracken, Frank Alexander Bracken, and William McKnight Bracken; and five granddaughters, Constance Owsley, Dorothy Ann Ball, Barbara Helen Ball, Marjorie Petty, and Elizabeth Ann Bracken.

The body was removed to the Meeks Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church by the Reverend Lewis W. Gishler. The body will be interred in the family mausoleum in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the home Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
