He was 79 years old, born April 30, 1910 in Gatewood, Missouri and died January 7 1990 in St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford. He was a machinist and member of North Park Church of Christ in Rockford.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Thom of Rockford; three sons, Lloyd Decker of Rockford, Truman M. Thom of Rockford, and David Thom of Yuma, Arizona; one brother, Elza Thom of Stuart, Illinois; one sister, Grace Niswonger of Success, AR, six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. There are four stepdaughters, Ruby Whitmire of Rockford, Louise DuSavage, Neva Kennedy of Missouri and Linda Kisling of Rockford; and two stepsons, Ronald Freeman of Yuma, Arizona and Eugene Freeman of Rockford.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Thom, three sisters, Mary Buckley, Pansy Owens, and Dora Austin, and one brother, Charley Thom.
Burial in Randolph Memorial Gardens, Pocahontas under direction of Ermert Funeral Service.
