James died in his residence. He was born in Success, Ark., to Truman and Alberta (Willis) Thom. James Married Charlotte Decker Dec. 18, 1980, in Rockford. He retired from Arlington Memorial Cemetery and drove trucks over the road. He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by sons, James (Rhonda) Thom and John (Shawna) Thom; daughter, Rebecca (Ardie) Moss; stepdaughters; Betty (Lon) Russell, Diana (Scott) Gober and Candie )John) Johnson; stepbrother, Truman Thom; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents.
