William Harrison Beets, 80, a McClain county pioneer, was dead on arrival at a Purcell hospital Saturday afternoon. He had lived in and around Byars 50 years.
He was a native of Phillips county, Missouri, and a member of the Byars Pentecostal church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the church with minister O. M. Bonner and T. E. Lovelace officiating. Burial will be in the Byars cemetery under direction of the Stratford Funeral Home.
Beets is survived by his wife, Jane, of the family home; two daughters, Mrs. Calcia Brewer of Cressey, Calif., and Mrs. Lizzie Vannest of Delhi, Calif.; two sons, Vernon and Elmer Beets of Byars; two brothers, Lee Beets of Tulsa and Riley Beets of California; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
