Her grandchildren in 1905 erected an obelisk in the Yerby Family Cemetery in Clarke County, GA. This oblisk is inscribed as follows:

"Sacred to the memory of ...
Ware, Henry 1784 - 1822, s/o Edward Ware & Sarah Thurmond
"and his wife ..."
Ware, Melinda Strickland 1784 - 1867, d/o Soloman Strickland and Amy Pace

(WARE is engraved at the base of the stone and the back of the stone reads "Grandfather & Grandmother Ware - 1905)

Driving directions: Travel north on U.S. Highway 29, 8/10 mile pastthe intersection of U.S. 29 and Highway 72 (to Elberton) and cross themedian st the Golden Pantry Store. Proceed south on Highway 29 1/10mile to dirt lane leading across the dam of a lake. Turn west (right)off Highway 29 onto lane and follow the lane to the northwest to thehighest hill west of the lake, approximately 4/10 mile.

The Yerby Family Cemetery is in a grove of oak and cedar tree,northwest of the junction of Trail Creek and West Fork Cree, whichflow into the lake.
