Born in the Town of Wayne, Washington County, on Sept. 7, 1888, he was the son of Joseph and Catherine Beisbier Sukawaty. He married Ida Kraus on May 5, 1914, in Beaver Dam. She preceded him in death in 1955.
He then married Ottilia Gradel White on Nov. 17, 1957, in Milwaukee.
Mr. Sukawaty served on the Campbellsport Village Board and was chief and assistant chief of the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department. He was the manager of the Kewaskum and Campbellsport Exchange for the General Telephone Co. for 29 years prior to his retirement in 1953.
He was a member of the Old Timers Club of General Telephone Co. and also a member of St Joseph's Church Hoy Name Society.
Survivors include his widow; one son, Roger of Fond du Lac; two daughters, Mrs. Euene (Janet) Schuh of Valders, and Mrs. Herbert (Patricia) Wagner of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wenzel of Manitowoc.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Bidlingmaier –Hornnby Funeral Home, and at 10 a.m. at St Joseph's Church. The Rev Jan Kieliszewski will officiate, and burial will be at St. Matthew's Cemetery, Campbellsport.
Friends of Mr. Sukawaty may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
