Frank F. Herman, 65, of Hollister, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 4, 1997, at the Twin Falls Care Center, after a long illness.

Frank was born Sept. 28, 1931, at Lakin, Kan., son of Vincent and Susan Herman. At the age of 7, he moved with his family to Idaho. He entered the Army in 1952 and spent two years in Korea during the Korean War. He then joined the Army Reserves and was discharged in 1960. In 1955, he married Dorothy Knauss and they were later divorced.

Frank was a well-known musician and played music throughout Idaho and Nevada for many years. He loved camping in the mountains and he enjoyed gardening. Frank worked for the City of Twin Falls Street Department for 29 years, retiring in 1993. In 1988, he married Della Mae Nelson. She died in 1994. Frank was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Frankie(Shirlene) Herman of Twin Falls, and Jerry (Karen) Knauss of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; three daughters, Connie (Larry) McCauley, Lori Stuart, and Debra Herman, all of Twin Falls; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Matthew Herman of Hollister and Alvin (Jan) Herman of Twin Falls; six sisters, Mary Beth (Don)Egbert of Twin Falls, Theresa (Jim) Hogaboam of Lewiston, Idaho, Serona Austin of Norman, Okla.; Rose (Bud) Deadmond and Mary Silva, both of Modesto, Calif., and Bertha (Dill) Beck of North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter and a brother.

A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, 1997, at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls, with Father Perry Dodds officiating. Military rites will be conducuted by area veterans and auxiliary. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Reynolds Funeral Chapel in Twin Falls.
