Deaths and Funerals

Archie Collins

Fairmont--Archie Collins, 71, of 434 Woodlawn Road, Charlotte, died yesterday at Charlotte Memorial hospital after a long illness. Funeral Services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock at the Prevatte Funeral home, Fairmont with Rev Charles O. Milford, pastor of Park Road Baptist Church, Charlotte in charge of rites. Burial will be in Proctorville Cemetery.

A son of the late L.T. Collins, Mr. Collins was born in Fairmont, Nov 8, 1883. He was engaged in the lumber business most of his life.

He is survived by three sons, Edwin of Greenville, SC, William and Jack of Atlanta, Ga; two brothers, J.C. Collins and John H. Collins, both of Lumberton; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Herring of Lumberton, and Mrs. R.L. Johnson of Fairmont; and one half brother, three half sisters.

************mother was Iley Byrd and wifes name was Hattie Ora Paxson
