Rites for L.T. Collins

Correspondence of the Robesonian

Fairmont, Aug 30—Mr. L.T. Collins, 84, was called to his eternal home of peace and rest, as the death angel visited his home Thursday, August 22nd, after an illness of several months.

Funeal services were held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. R.L. Johnson Saturday afternoon, August 24th, with Rev Wilbur Edwards in charge of the service. Burial was made in the Collins Cemetery near the home.

The many beautiful floral designs were in charge of Mrs. Bill Johnson, assisted by Misses Evelyn, Myrtle and Lois Johnson. Nevona and Hattie Harding, Cooper Bass, Margaret and Hilda Collins, Hattie May, Ruby and Betty Lou Floyd and Mmes Kirby Elliot and Wilbur Johnson, al granddaughters and nieces of Mr. Collins.

Pallbearers were Bill and Bob Johnson, Bill Floyd, Ingram Collins, Horace Bass and English Bullock.

As we stated last week in The Robesonian, the following sons and daughters survive; J.C. Collins of Lumberton, J.H. of Route 3 Lumberton, H.T. on Fairmont Route 2, Archie of Washington, DC, Mrs. Floyd Herring of Lumberton, Mrs. Johnson of Fairmont, Mrs. Lillie Davis of Fairmont, Mrs. Annie Carter of Long Branch, Mrs. Ellier Harding of Fairmont, Mrs. Caroline Floyd of SC. Also surviving are 41 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
