Although his headstone (no picture available, sorry) has his deathdate Nov 2, 1974, a Saturday, his obituary (below), published Oct 30, 1974, lists the day of his death as Sunday, which would correspond to Oct 27. The November date may be the date of his burial.

STANLEY D. BARKLEY

BATH – Stanley D. Barkley, 78, of St. Cloud, Fla., formerly of Bath, died Sunday in Orange Memorial Hospital, Orlando, Fla., follwing an illness of two months.
He was born July 1, 1896 in Bradford, the son of George and Flora Morehouse Barkley.
He retired in 1959 after many years in the lumbermill business in the Bath area. He was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church.
He is survived by his widow, Esther Axtell Barkley; three sons, Frederick Barkley of Canandaigua, Kenneth Barkley of Bath and Henry Barkley of Corning.
Also, seven daughters, Mrs. Mildred Carr of Horseheads, Mrs. George (Flora) Reed of Bath, Mrs. Harriett Gohn of Lorraine, Ohio, Mrs. Frederick (Charlotte) Smith of Prattsburg, Mrs. Richard (Celia) Ross of Maine, N.Y., Mrs. Joseph (Georgiana) Kovac and Mrs. Richard (Victoria) Snyder, both of Orlando, Fla.
Also, three brothers, Frederick Barkley of Bath, Clair Barkley of Savona and Emory Barkley of Ingleside; 38 grandchildren and 24 great-children.
Friends may call at the Bond-Davis Funeral Home, Bath, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Carlin S. Tuller officiating. Interment will be in Bradford Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
