Annie Coral Muse, the 2nd of eight children of Rev. Joseph Brainard Muse and Essie [née Devlin] Muse, was born in Blanche, Tennessee on June 15, 1875; while her father was minister of the Prosperity & Blanche Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. In 1882, Annie's family moved to Verdery, South Carolina to be closer to her mother's family. Coral attended school and taught music to neighboring families.

On Feb 18th 1902, Coral married Alfred "Alph" Lyon, son of Capt. John C. and Margaret [née Jordan] Lyon of Abbeville. They were married at Coral's family home near Cedar Springs.

Alph & Coral Lyon had four known children:
Ralph Muse (1902-1993)
Margaret Elizabeth {m. Harris}(1906- 1992)
Mary Estelle {m.Rogers & Bell} (1910- 1999)
Joseph Brainard "Branny" Lyon (1914-1993)

Annie Coral Muse Lyon died December 10th 1955 at her son's home in Union, South Carolina in the 80th year of her age. She was laid to rest in the Lyon Family plot at Melrose Cemetery beside her husband, Alph.

Coral was known by her many nieces & nephews as Mama Teety, per her niece, Mary Eunice Muse Gaston.
