My great-aunt, Minnie M. Muse, was the daughter of Rev. Joseph Brainerd Muse and Nina Essie (née Devlin) Muse. Minnie was born on the 31st day of March 1879 in Blanche, Lincoln County, Tennessee while her father was pastor at the Blanche and Prosperity Associate Reformed Presbyterian Churches. She was the sister of Lois A. Muse Kerr (1873-1942), Coral Annie Muse Lyon (1876-1955), Janie Muse Smith (1876-1963), Robert Lowry Muse (1881-1911), Mary Devlin Muse Elvington (1886-1915), Joseph Pressly Muse (1888-1968){my grandfather}and Sarah Eunice Muse Kibler (1891-1911).

After her birth, Minnie and her family lived for next three years in Blanche until her father resigned his pastorate and moved the family to Verdery, SC to be closer to her maternal grandparents, James J. & Mary A. Devlin. There her father was primarily a farmer and an associate minister at several A.R.P. churches in the surrounding Abbeville and Greenwood Counties.

Minnie never married and remained a devoted daughter to her parents; living with her mother until Essie's death in 1943. At that time, Minnie lived with her sister, Janie Smith in Greenwood, S.C. All of her niece's & nephews have wonderful memories of this affectionate, gracious lady.

Minnie M. Muse died on December 18th 1960. During her 80 years, Minnie saw the world change through two world wars and the transformation from the horse & buggy to the start of the space race to the moon. Minnie is buried at in the Muse Family plot with her beloved parents, Rev J.B. and Essie Muse, her two sisters, Mary Devlin Elvington, Sarah Eunice Kibler and her brother, Robert Lowry Muse.
