Evelyn A. Schneider, 87, of Fort Madison, died at 4:13 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 at the West Point Care Center.

She was born on Jan. 17, 1918 in Fort Madison, the daughter of William and Genevieve Kramer Watznauer. She was a homemaker, and she owned and operated the Blue Grass Diary with her husband. She married Joseph Schneider on April 21, 1937. He died Sept. 20, 2001. She was a member of Ss. Mary and Joseph Church, where she served as a eucharistic minister. She was a volunteer at various schools and she delivered Meals of Wheels.

Survivors include three daughters: Jean (husband Kenny) Moeller and Nancy (husband Mike) Sanders, all of West Point, and Joan (husband Bill) Sheppard of Fort Madison, three sons: Carl Schneider of Fort Madison, Tom (wife Mary) Schneider of Burlington, and John (wife Kathy) Schneider of West Burlington, a son-in-law, Paul Moeller of West Point, 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; five sisters: Pauline Blint of Fort Madison, Lucille Fedler, Laverne Boeding, and Vera Boeding, all of West Point, and Rita Miller of Burlington, four brothers: Floyd and Bernie Watznauer of Fort Madison, Raymond Watznauer of West Point, and Ike Watznauer of Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, a grandson, two sisters, and one brother.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday, with a rosary recited at 3 p.m., the family meeting with friends from 6 to 8 p.m., and a wake service at 7 p.m. at King-Lynk Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Ss. Mary and Joseph Church, with the Rev. Thomas Parlette officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fort Madison.
