He was born in Augusta County, Sept. 7, 1907, a son of the late Cornelius A. and Bernice Thacker Arnold. Mr. Arnold was employed by the Norfolk and Western Railroad and was a member of the Elk Run Church of the Brethren.
During World War II he served with the U. S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maisy S. "Mollie" Arnold; a sister, Mrs. George E. "Ada" Davis, of Waynesboro; three brothers, Harry Arnold and Fay W. Arnold of Waynesboro, and Charles R. Arnold of Stuarts Draft; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Elk Run Church of the Brethren, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Eugene E. Lenker and the Rev. Eugene E. Smith. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Arnold, Earl McCormick, Charles McCormick, Woodrow Davis, Warren Davis and Richard Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Paxton, Addison Tabor, Mitchell Robertson, Edgar Stover, Winston Faught, Jasper Miller, Sam Snyder, Dr. Richard P. Bell, Dr. Thomas G. Bell
