Mrs. Minnie Higgins Hurst, wife of Thomas Jackson Hurst, 407 Gannon Road, died yesterday at 12:10 p.m. in a Portsmouth hospital.


She was the daughter of the late Malachi I. and Mrs. Sabrine Woodhouse Hurst. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.


Mrs. Hurst also was an honorary member of the St. Paul's Parent-Teacher Association and a member of St. Paul's Alumnae, Children of Mary Society and the Altar and Sanctuary Society of the church.


Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Hilda Halligan, Mrs. Theresa Leary and Mrs. Heywood Barber; one son, T. Brian Hurst; two grandchildren, William Thomas Leary and Mary Theresa Leary; two sisters, Mrs. Loretta J. Edwards and Mrs. Rose Colenda, of Virginia Beach; and one brother, Stephen J. Higgins, of Norfolk.


The body was taken to Brennan Funeral Home and will be carried to the home for rosary services tonight at 8 o'clock.


Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
