Workman Killed at Grove City Plant William P. Dunlap of Harrisville Crushed to death while loading 30 Ton Casting
William Perry Dunlap, aged 39 of Harrisville, RD 1 was killed at 7:50 p.m. Monday at the Cooper-Bessemer plant in Grove City, when he was assisting in loading a 30-ton casting. In some manner the hook slipped and crushed Mr. Dunlap against the wall. Born in Mercer Township, Butler County. August 16, 1907, he had been a lifetime resident of the Harrisville community. Mr. Dunlap was the son of Lawrence and Ethel Roberts Dunlap who survive and was a crane help by occupation. He was a member of the I.O.O.M. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Donna Elizabeth at home, and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Albert Simmons, Mrs. Cecil Henderson, Harrisville; Mrs. Grace Lieby, Jackson Center; Mrs. Pearl Kieefer and Miss Shirley Dunlap, Oil City; Norman Dunlap, Floyd Dunlap, Grove City; and Clyde and Fred Dunlap at home. Funeral services will be conducted from the Cunningham Funeral Home Grove City, on Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Reverend Ohl, pastor of the Methodist Church in charge.
Interment will be in Harmony U.P. Cemetery, Harrisville.
Friends may call at the funeral home this evening and up until the time of the funeral on Thursday.

Funeral services for William Dunlap, 39, of Harrisville, R.D. 2, brother of Mrs. Pearl Kifer, of Oil City, who accidentally was killed at the Cooper-Bessemer Corporation plant in Grove City Monday night, will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Cunningham Funeral Home in Grove City.
The victim, a craneman's helper, was attaching a casting to a crane when the chain slipped, releasing the 30-ton casting. He was a lifelong resident of Harrisville. He was born in Mercer Township, Butler County, Aug. 16, 1907, the son of Lawrence and Ethel Roberts Dunlap.
Surviving are his daughter, Donna Elizabeth at home; five sisters, Mrs. Albert Simmons, of Harrisville, R.D.1, Mrs. Cecil Henderson, Harrisville, Mrs. Grace Leiby, Jackson Center, Mrs. Pearl Kifer, Oil City, and Miss Shirley Dunlap, at home; four brothers. Norman, Grove City, R.D. 2; Floyd, of Grove City; Clyde, of Boyers, and Fred Dunlap, of Harrisville.
Interment will be in the Harmony United Presbyterian Cemetery, Harrisville.
