Barbara was the daughter of John & Sarah Herger. When Barbara was 2 yrs old she came with her parents and 3 older siblings to Glasco, KS, from Monroe County, IL where she was born. As a teenager, she moved to Saline County where her older brother Otto lived. She married Charles Edward Kelley [Sept 9, 1883]and they farmed in Saline County throughout their lives. They had four children: Charles [aka: Frank], Edward, Ella [aka: Mae] & Clara.
