Marion W. Morehead, 84, of Falls City, passed away Nov. 9, 2010 at Omaha.

He was born March 12, 1926 at Rulo to the late Marion W. and Elizabeth (Pettinger) Morehead.

Marion enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 3, 1946 and was honorably discharged on May 7, 1947.

On February 14, 1952 he married Helen Reschke at Rulo.

Marion was raised in the Rulo area and attended country school. He started farming with his father after his schooling. The couple established their home on a farm southwest of Rulo and lived there until 1996 when they moved into Falls City. He was a farmer his entire life and also did custom bailing. He retired in 2006. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Rulo and a member of the American Legion Post #102 of Falls City.

Marion is survived by his wife, Helen, of Falls City; sons, Bob and his wife Deb, of Rulo; Bill, Shubert; daughter, Barb Vice and her husband Dave, of Verdon; brother, Elmer, of Falls City, seven grandchildren and six great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Josephine Beckner, Mary Morehead, Martha Diehm and Sister Laurita Morehead, brothers, Wilson, Loyd, Edward, Joseph and Leo Morehead.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, November 13 at Immaculate Conception Church at Rulo with Father David Oldham as the presiding priest. Interment was in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery with military graveside honors by Falls City Memorial Guard.
