RAYMOND SCHAEFER
Raymond E. Schaefer, 63, Austin Rt. 2, died Tuesday noon at his home.
He was a retired employee of the George A. Hormel & Co.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis, Austin; one son, Raymond F. Schafer, Jr., Austin; one step-son, Dean Cramer, Rochester; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lillian and Robert Young, Monticello, Minn., Marie and Erland Dahring, Austin; three grandchildren; four brothers, Sylvester Schaefer, Wilfred Schaefer, Bernard Schaefer and Leo Schaefer, all of Austin; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Whalen, Mrs. Theodore (Dorothy) Schlichter, Mrs. Jack (Helen) Sershen, Mrs. Daryl (Rosemary) Donley, all from Austin; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday.

SCHAEFER – Funeral services for Raymond F. Schaefer, Austin Rt. 2, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Queen of Angels Church. Rev. Patrick Lawler officiating Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Graveside military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1216 and American Legion Post 91. There will be a wake service at 8 p.m. Thursday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and until 9:30 a.m. Friday.

RAYMOND SCHAEFER
Raymond E. Schaefer was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Taopi, Minn., the son of Joe and Celestine Schaefer.
He moved to Austin, Minn., and attended Austin Public Schools. For 40 hears, he was employed by Geo. A. Hormel & Co.
His marriage to Phyllis Shuck took place Feb. 1, 1947 in Austin, and their home in on Austin Rt. 2.
Mr. Schaefer served four years with the Army, in the European theater during World War II. He was very active in the VFW youth hockey and baseball programs.
He was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, VFW Post 1216 and American Legion Post 91.
Mr. Schaefer spent many hours visiting hospital patients for VFW Post 1216 and American Legion Post 91.
He died at noon Nov. 20, 1874, at his home, Austin Rt. 2.
Surviving are his wife Phyllis, Austin; two daughters and sons-in-law, and grandchildren, Lillian and Rob Young and Scott of Monticello, Minn., Marie and Erland Dahring, Liza and Amber of Austin; a son, Raymond (Butch) Schafer, Jr. and his fiancée, Kim Bruchmeier, Austin; four brothers, Sylvester, Wilfred, Bernard, Leo Schaefer, all of Austin; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Whalen, Mrs. Theodore (Dorothy) Schlichter, Mrs. Jack (Helen) Sershen, Mrs. Daryl (Rosemary) Donley, Austin; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at Queen of Angels Church. Fr. Lawler officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers where members of the VFW Post 1216 and American Legion Post 91 Color Guard.
