Norman Hayes Benninghove Sr. was the son of John Benninghove and Elizabeth McLaughlin. He married Nora Ethel Rickert on 25 Apr 1922. She was the daughter of Gottlieb F. Rickert and Minnie Bentz.

Norman and Nora had two children.

1. Norma Ethel Benninghove who married Harry S. Stevens. She died of heart trouble before her 40th birthday.

2. Norman "Bud" Hayes Benninghove Jr. who married Frieda Katherine Freimuth. She was the daughter of Gustav Heinrich Freimuth and Anna Buchholtz. Bud and Frieda had three children:

1. David Michael Benninghove who married Pat Miller. They had daughter Rachel.

2. Alan Mark Benninghove

3. Kathy Michelle Benninghove who married 1st Kenneth Michael Givens (son of Ernest Givens and Ophelia Fletcher) and 2nd Mark Gross (son of Sydney Gross and Irene Levin). Kathy has a daughter Melanie from her 1st marriage.

BENNINGHOVE - In Ardmore, on Sept. 15, NORMAN H., SR., husband of Nora Rickert Benninghove, in his 60th year. Services will be held from The Ardell Funeral Home, 300 Fayette St., Conshohocken, on Thus., Sept. 19, at 11 A.M. Int. Zion Lutheran Cem. Friends may call Wed. eve. Masonic service, 8 P.M.

Mr. Benninghove, Contractor, Dies

A masonic service last evening preceded funeral services this morning in Conshohocken for Norman Hayes Benninghove. Main Line building contractor, who died Sunday at his home, 19 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore. Burial was at Zion Lutheran Church Spring City.

Mr. Benninghove who was 60, was born in Phoenixville. He was a member of Cassia Lodge 273, F. and A.M.

Surviving are his wife, the former Nora Rickert; a son, Norman Beninnghove, Jr. of Jeffersonville; a daughter, Mrs. Norma Stevens of Oreland; a brother Charles of Roxborough, and three sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Roberts of Philadelphia, Mrs. Isabelle Braun of Plymouth Valley and Mrs. Dorothy Mills of Prospectville.

Norman Hayes Benninghove, Sr., 60 Main Line building contractor, died yesterday at his home, 19 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore, Pa.

Mr. Benninghove, a native of Phoenixville, was the son of the late John Benninghove and Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Benninghove and husband of Nora (Rickert) Benninghove.

He was a member of Cassia Lodge 273, F. and A.M.

In addition to his wife, a son, Norman Beninnghove, Jr., Jeffersonville; a daughter, Mrs. Norma Stevens, Oreland; a brother, Charles Benninghove, Roxborough, and three sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Roberts, Philadelphia; Mrs. Isabelle Braun, Plymouth Valley; and Mrs. Dorothy Mills, Prospectville, survive.

The funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday at the William T. Ardell Funeral Home, 300 Fayette St., Conshohocken. Interment at Zion Lutheran Church, Spring City. Friends may call Wednesday evening.

A Masonic service will be held at 8 P.M. Wednesday.

The name Hayes is believed to have come fro a family friend who was a sheriff of Chester Co., Pa.

He was confirmed at Epiphany Lutheran Church on March 31, 1912. He was living at 519 Dupont St. when married.
