Frances Ann "Annie" Louisa McChesney was the daughter of Capt. James McChesney and Frances Ann McNutt. She married Edward Lewis in Rockbridge Co., Virginia, the son of James A Lewis and Prudentia Wilson, on 21 Oct 1858. After she died in 1865, he married her sister, Mary Margaret A. McChesney, in 1867. Edward served in Co. I, 4th VA Infantry.

They had a daughter Prudentia Wilson Lewis on 23 Oct 1861 (married Dr. Wm C Campbell, 12 Jan 1882, and had 7 children). Connected below.

The Rockbridge Co. VA Death Register, says Mrs. Anna Lewis died Jun 1865 in Rockbridge Co., VA, of Consumption (tuberculosis), aged 26 years, the daughter of James and F. A. McChesney, born in Rockbridge Co., VA, the wife of Edward Lewis. The informant was her brother, James Z McChesney.
