Tuesday afternoon funeral services were conducted at Eagleton, Wis., for Valentine (Val) C. King, a former Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) resident, who died last Friday at a hospital in Chippewa Falls. His health had been failing for the past several months.

Some 30 years ago he operated a restaurant in Owen, but for the most part of his life he had lived in Chippewa County where he was born and of late years had been in the tavern business.

Mr. King was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Eagleton, and of the Chippewa County Tavern League.

Surviving are his wife, Clara; two sons and two daughters, Kenneth of Wausau; Gordon of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Bernard Turany of Fargo, N.D., and a foster daughter, Miss Joyce Roleau, at home; four brothers, Herman, George and Albert, all of Chippewa Falls, Henry of Cornell Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ferg of Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Anna Hollister and Mrs. Bertha Popple, both of rt. 1, Jim Falls; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
