ROY - Mrs. Marie M. Dodson Shreck, 83, of 2071 W. 5400 S., Roy, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 1978, at St. Benedict's Hospital. Mrs. Shreck was born July 18, 1895 in Colorado Springs, Colo., a daughter of John and Jeanette (Jeannette) THOMAS Dodson. She was married to George Earl Shreck on Dec. 3, 1921, in Ogden. He died April 7, 1974. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Circle 3 of United Methodist Women. She had been a member of the Homemakers Club in Anchorage, Alaska. She had been active in the Republican Party. She was reared and educated in Colorado Springs and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. She lived in Anchorage, Alaska, for 11 years prior to returning to Ogden. She was the first women employee of the Railway Mail Service in Ogden. Surviving are one son and two daughters, Donald T. Shreck, Riverdale; Mrs. Jean A. Jolley, Roy; Mrs. Paul (Floy M.) Hopple, San Jose, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Martha M. (Martha L.) Moore, Ogden; Mrs. Francis (Frances) Black, Sunnyvale, Calif. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary with the Rev. Bronston Greenwood of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment in Aultorest Memorial Park. The family suggests donations to the First United Methodist Church Organ Fund.
