John William Dodson, 77, of 3591 Grant died today at eight a.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. G. E. Shreck. Mr. Dodson was born in Newton, Mo., Aug. 28, 1865, a son of Willis and Martha Jane LAMPTON Dodson. He had resided here for the last 24 years, and at the present address for about nine years. He married Olive Jeannette Thomas on Oct. 25, 1891 in Glenwood Springs, Colo. She died May 10, 1909. During his early life he was engaged in farming and in recent years assisted his son-in-law, G. E. Shreck in a gasoline business. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the Methodist Church. Surviving are one son, Wilbur E. Dodson, of Ogden; three daughters, Mrs. Shreck and Mrs. Wallace Moore of Ogden, Mrs. P. A. Black, Anaheim, Calif.; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. L. D. Beck of Fresno, Calif. The body is at Aultorest Mortuary.
