Died Friday
Life-Long Resident of This City Died at Home of Daughter in Alexandria, Minn.
W.R. Palmer, 72, life-long resident of this county died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ada Longaker in Alexandria, Minn. at 3 o'clock last Friday afternoon. Mr. Palmer had been a sufferer with heart trouble for a number of years and it was this ailment that resulted in his death.
Mr. Palmer was born at Eddyville and with the exception of two years spent in Denver had lived in Monroe County continuously since that time. He was a highly respected citizen and had a wide acquaintance over the county, who deeply regret his passing.
He is survived by his wife, five sons, George of Ottumwa and William, James, Sam and Ben of Albia, two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Marshall of Albia and Mrs. Ada Longaker of Alexandria, Minn., and one brother Ed of Florida.
Funeral services were held from the home, 221 South Second Street, Monday aftrenoon at 1:30 o'clock with Rev. C.M. Glick, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in Oak View Cemetery.
