Hannah was the daughter of Jesse Palmer and Ellen S Eves Palmer. She was born in Malta, Morgan County, Ohio. She married Thomas Milligan Hammond on March 12, 1873 in Albia, Monroe County, Iowa. She and Thomas had 4 children which are all listed here with their links. This photograph of Hanna has her holding her grandson Jesse Koontz.

Hannah A. Palmer Hammond, was born June 3, 1854; in Morgan Co., O. and died July 16, 1915. She was united in marriage to Thos. M. Hammond, March 12, 1873. In 1882 Mr. and Mrs. Hammond came to Nebraska and settled near Nelson, and have made their home in and near Nelson most of the time since. Four children were born to this union as follows: Jesse C., Isabelle, M., Jas R. and Hettie E. Koontz. Mrs. Koontz is their only living child. Upon the death of their daughter, Isabelle, Mr. and Mrs. Hammond took her infant child, Pearl and raised her as one of their own children. She is known today as Mrs. Pearl Hall.
