THOMAS A. KENNEDY
ONEIDA, July 11 – Thomas A. Kennedy, 61, resident for 37 years, yesterday, threw himself into the Oswego River at Phoenix, where he had gone for his health.
Mr. Kennedy was born June 29, 1862, at Irish ridge, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Kennedy. For several years he was chauffeur for S. D. Breese and later for C. Will Chappell. Mr. Kennedy was proprietor of a grocery store on Madison Street for a short time, retiring from that to return to the automobile business. For the past nine years he had been operating a taxi service.
Surviving besides his widow, Elizabeth Fellows, he leaves and adopted daughter, Mildred: three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Burback of Verona, Mrs. Nora Tyrrell of Rome, and Mrs. Teresa Riley of this city and one brother, Frank Kennedy of Irish Ridge.
Mr. Kennedy was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and a member of Oneida Council No. 47, K of C. The body was brought here today by Undertaker C. K. Kenna.
