He was the oldest son of Byron and Wilma Walker. He was raised in Flint and left high school in the 10th grade, foregoing graduation, to enlist in the Navy at age 17 during WWII. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1943-1945. Upon returning home, he married Beatrice Aline Fielding, 8/17/1947 and divorced about 1965. He worked several factory jobs before he started electrical work with D and S Electric in Tyler in the early 1960's. Over the next several years, he became a Master Electrician and formed his own company, Flint Electric about 1974. Upon his father's death, he and his family moved to the Walker Homestead in Flint, where he ran his electrical company out of. He died at the Walker Homestead in Flint of leukemia in 1997.
