Mary was born August 4, 1904 near Davis, Indian Territory. She was the daughter of Thomas Bird Edgmon and Harriet Birdwell Edgmon. Her father died when she was 8 months old and her mother passed away in 1917. A week after her mothers death she moved with her older sister to Trenton Nebraska. They later moved to Newcastle Wyoming and homesteaded near the Kuemmerly homestead. On September 4, 1923 she married a neighbor named Herbert Kuemmerle in Newcastle Wyoming. Mary and Herbert lived on their homestad for a year and then rented the Hunt place about 3 miles east. They lived there until 1965 when they moved to Newcastle due to Herberts failing health. They had three daughters Claire (Mrs. Virgil Finn), Patricia, and Gladys (Mrs. Don Pridgeon. They had one son Carl.

Mary died March 13, 2006 and is laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle Wyoming.
