Mr. Jesse G. Stockton, an aged and prominent respected citizen, died at his home near Dicken school house, Dec. 27, 1928, due to diseases old age. He was aged 88 years and was a veteran of the Civil War. He is survived by 6 children: Mrs. S.L. Jarvis of this town, Mrs. R.B. Poling of Crosby, N.D., Mrs. Perk Lovelace of Cooper, Ky., Gene Stockton of Howell, Texas, Craft Stockton of Colorado and Paul Stockton of Detroit, Mich., and a number of grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. L.F. Piercy, of Horse cave, and the remains were laid to rest in the family cemetery.

Samuel married Belle Knouse on 7 Feb 1900 in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa
