Jacob Reed, one of the oldest residents of Bedford, died on Monday at his home at the age of 84. He was a prominent business man and was successively merchant, banker, lumberman, manufacturer and insurance agent, being engaged in the latter business at the time of his death. He is survived by the following children: Edward and Horace of Saxton, and W. [William] S. and Miss Mary Reed of Bedford. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: John P. Reed, Esq., of Bedford; Joseph A. Reed of Oakmont; Peter A Reed of Tyrone; Mrs. Reuben Colvin and Mrs. Charlotte May of Sulphur Spring; Mrs. J. [Jeremiah] L. Marbourg of Seattle, Wash.
