Funeral services for Charles Airhart Miller, 53, 5200 Carolyn, will be at Meeks Mortuary at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Herbert Miller officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory. Calling hours at Meeks will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and before services Wednesday.

The recipient of two Bronze Stars, he died unexpectedly Saturday at his home of an apparent heart attack.


A Muncie native and the son of Dewey Sr. and Arah Airhart Miller, he attended Central High School and served in the U.S. Army in World War II.


Mr. Miller had been employed by Warner Gear the past several years, and prior to that, had a lengthy term of employment with the Bacon American Corporation. He was a member of Eagles, Lodge 231.


Survivors include his wife, Georgia Plank Miller; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth E. Franks, Muncie, and Mrs. Wilma D. Whetsell, near Eaton; a brother, Dewey Miller, Muncie; two stepsons, Paul Kitchen, Van Nuys, Calif., and Danny Kitchen, Gas City; four stepgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
