Don Barnard, 57, died Friday from injuries sustained in his home from a fire which destroyed his home.

He was a member of the Lawrence Baptist Church near Pembroke, a salesman by trade and was retired from Shuman Building Supply Company in Brunswick.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Barnard, Black Creek Community; two daughters, Angie Wilson and Lisa Powell, Black Creek Community; two grandchildren, Matthew and Jacob Powell, Black Creek Community; his mother, Janie Barnard, Claxton; four brothers, Calvin, Gene and Gerald Barnard, all of Pembroke, and Bobby Barnard, Nevils; and one sister, Edna M. Fields, Pembroke.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Morrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Bryant officiating. Burial will be in the Lawrence Baptist Church Cemetery near Pembroke.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Shuman, Jack Shuman Jr., Eddie Barnard, Rufus Kangeter, Raybon Kangeter and Buddy Wilkes.

The body is at the funeral home and the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. A vigil service will begin at 7:30 p.m.
