Charlie Cochran was born on a farm near Jonesborough Tennessee; Parents: Jacob Cochran and Jemima Jane (Martin).

First Wife: married in Tennessee, 1899 Mattie Elizabeth (Shanks)and they had 3 daughters & 2 sons... Second Wife: 1909 "Nannie" Rachel Suzanne (Harshbarger/often listed as Hashbarger), and they had 5 sons & 1 daughter. Nannie also had children from her first marriage to Gilbert Royston: 6 sons.

Charlie Cochran lived in Tennessee and Iowa; died at home in rural Johnson County near Solon,Iowa and was buried beside first wife in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Greeneville, Tennessee, associated with Liberty Hill Methodist Church. Charlie Cochran and Nannie (Harshbarger) Cochran were my husband's grandparents.
Charlie was survived by 4 daughters: Mrs. Pearl Campbell, Mrs. Anna Brookshire, Mrs. Grace Goodman, Maude Berry; 7 sons: Herbert, John, Fred, Murrel, Albert, Ralph, and Eddie. Also survived by one sister: Mrs. Dora Bales; 31 grandchildren. One son died in infancy. Funeral services were held in Oxford, IA at First Federated Church - then the body was taken to Greenville, Tennessee for burial.
