Husband of Hannah (Bedell) McVay (1796-1884). Son of John Jacob McVay and Sarah (Rude) McVay. Samuel was the father of at least ten children including: Elizabeth, Elmina, Benjamin Franklin, John Nelson, Sarah, Catherine, Samuel, Caroline, Hannah and Warren McVay.

Please note: There are two headstones for Samuel McVay. One is a shared stone with his wife, where the names are spelled correctly as "McVay." He also has an older single stone, where his last name is incorrectly spelled as "McVey." I am using the correct spelling of the family name for this memorial.
