Funeral arrangements are being handled by Denton Funeral Home.
She died today at Guadalupe Medical Center.
Mrs. Lea was born Dec. 29, 1902, in Talihina, Okla. She was a school teacher, teaching for 17 years in LeFlore and Osage counties in Oklahoma. She taught for one year in Field, N.M., and for 15 years in Hope, N.M. Before her 1968 retirement, she was a teacher in Carlsbad.
Mrs. Lea was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Woman's Club of Carlsbad, the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association, the Order of Eastern Star, the National Retired Teachers Association, the New Mexico Retired Teachers Association, the Area Art Association and the Landsun Auxiliary.
Survivors include one brother, Murdo Allen of Hominy, Okla., and two sisters, Joy Marlar of Carlsbad and Naomi Middlebrook of Hominy, Okla.

Service for Fae Lea, 87, 2410 Ave. B, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Denton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Williamson of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
She died Monday in Guadalupe Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made either to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
