Mrs. Fred Baer, a well known resident of Manitowoc county, died at the family residence, two miles northwest of St. Nazianz, March 7, 1932, at the age of 57. Her death followed a stroke which she suffered about 5 weeks ago. The funeral will be held at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Rev. Fintan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born Sept. 29, 1875, on a farm near St. Nazianz, Mrs. Baer had lived in the county all of her life. She was Mary Julia Niederprum before her marriage to Fred Baer in 1896. She was ill for some time but was believed to be on the road to recovery when struck by a stroke of apoplexy. Surviving are the husband and ten children: Mrs. William (Theresa) Merkes and Miss Anna Baer, Chicago, Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Escher, Kiel, Mrs. Arthur (Rose) Stein, Meeme, Mrs. Henry (Mary Elizabeth) Binversie, School Hill, Hildegard Baer, at home, Joseph, Newark, N.J., John living on farm near St. Nazianz, and Henry and Fred, at home. A brother, Matt Niederpriem, and 12 grandchildren also survive. Deceased was a member of the Christian Mothers society.
