The former Rose Baer was born August 15, 1907, in Manitowoc County, a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary Niederpreum Baer. She attended St. Gregory Catholic School in St. Nazianz, Wis.
On October 2, 1929, Rose was united in marriage to Arthur A Stein Sr. at Gregory Catholic Church in St.Nazianz. Following their marriage the couple farmed the Stein homestead in the town of Meeme where they lived their entire married lives.
In 1984, Rosa moved to Sheboygan to reside at Meadow View Manor Nursing Home. While at the nursing home, she enjoyed embroidery and crocheting as well as making ceramics and playing bingo.
Rose was a life member of St. Isadore's Catholic Church in Osman, Wis. She was also a member of St. Isodore's Christian Mothers and the Osman Grandma's Club.
Survivors include five sons, Raymond Stein of West Allis, Wis., Harold (Marcy) Stein of Cleveland, Wis., Rev Norbert Stein SSJ of Prichard, Ala., Arthur (Liz) Stein of Sheboygan, Ken (Nancy) Stein of Kiel, Wis.; six daughters, Mary Ann (Jerry) Kreps of Dixon, Ill., Lucille (Joe) Binder, Rosemary Stein and Joan (Michael) Ostertag, all of Sheboygan, Rosann (Steve) Hermans of Auburn Hills, Mich., Karen (Wayne) Junk of Newton, Wis., one sister, Ann York of St. Nazianz, Wis.; 41 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret, one grandson, Dominic, one daughter-in-law, Ginny, five brothers and four sisters.
