Born January 30, 1926 in Fielding, Utah to Ralph and Voilet Bigler Grover.
He married Leila Hunsaker of Honeyville, Utah on November 6, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple.
He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 39 years after serving his country during World War II.
After retiring, he served his church on a mission with his beloved wife in the North Carolina-Raleigh Mission. After returning, he served in the Ogden Temple as an officiator.
Verl has served his church in many positions. He was in the Sunday School presidency on both the stake and ward level, stake mission president, counselor in a bishopric and branch president for the Pioneer Care Center.
He was a farmer who worked on his father's farm and grew his own garden for many years with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Leila of Brigham City; of Brigham City; two sons, Steven V. (Cay) of West Bountiful, Rick V. (Maureen) of Honeyville and two daughters; Verleen Hardman (Gregge) of Tremonton and Cindy Torgesen (Brian) of Soda Springs, Idaho; and a Lamanite daughter, Kim Marks (Erwin) of No. Ogden; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by five sisters, LaRee Dickson of West Valley; Ruth Brough of Tremonton; Janice Sutherland of No. Ogden; Mavis Ahlmer of Ogden; and Erma Anderson of Hagerman, Idaho; and one brother, Raymond Grover of Bear River City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Memorial services will be on Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997 at the Brigham City 10th Ward at 11 a.m. Friends and family may visit on Friday, Feb. 21st, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Brigham City and at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Honeyville Cemetery
