Ross Kicklighter Elderly Citizen Died Last Sunday

Ross G. Kicklighter,82,died Sunday in Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton after a short illness.

He was a retired farmer and a member of Love's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mamie Guydell Ray Kicklighter of Glennville; seven daughters, Mrs. Almania Anderson, Mrs. M.B. Moody, Mrs. R.L. Blocker, Mrs. M.J. Padgett, all of Glennville, Mrs. L.E. Padgett of Brunswick, Mrs. Theda Caraway of Baltimore, Md. and Mrs. J.C. Allen of Baxley; five sons, Walford, Wilmer, Darwin, and G.W. Kicklighter, all of Glennville, and Randolph Kicklighter of Savannah; a brother, Millard Kicklighter of Screven; 50 grandchildren and 66 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 4 p.m. at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church, conducted by Elder W.H. Durrence, Rev. Ernest Dyal, and Rev. W.R. Barnard. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Michael Kicklighter, Johnny Kicklighter, Danny Anderson, Richard Padgett, James Padgett, Randall Kicklighter.

Honorary pallbearers were Hubert Dutton, Carlton Durrence, Hugh Strickland, Tully Bland, Mandell Dutton, Slaton Durrence, J.A. Bacon, Harris Kicklighter, Joe Brown Dutton, Bruce Dubberly, Jack A. Rogers, Ernest Strickland.

Rimes Mortuary of Glennville was in charge.
