Whitley City — Mrs. Printy Yancey, age 85, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010, at her home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 25, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Revelo Church of God with Rev. Leslie Gilreath officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Paul Good, David Good, Alonzo Yancey, Jr., Derrick Yancey, Kenny Ray Yancey, and Jonathon Yancey. She was laid to rest at the Sexton Cemetery at Paint Rock, Tennessee.
Ms. Yancey was born November 9, 1924, the daughter of the late John and Martha Ann Sexton Jeffers. Also preceding her in death is her husband Paul Yancey who died October 11, 1992, children Vernon Lee, Dorothy and Alonzo Yancey, brothers Vernon, Dester, Leon, Milford, James, Wolford, Isham, and Matthew Jeffers, (and infant John, Jr.); sisters Lillie and Lettie Duncan, Linnie Young, and Mertie Perkins.
Surviving family include three daughters Betty and Geneva Yancey of Stearns, and Martha (and Ralph) Witzell of Clermont, Georgia, and four sons Johnny (and Irene) Yancey of Oneida, Kennith (and Connie) Yancey of Revelo, Dennis (and Gladys) Yancey of Stearns, and Paul, Jr. (and Debbie) Yancey of Strunk. She was blessed with 24 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Yancey was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
