JEFFERS, DESTER CLEO, Sr. 80, of the Paint Rock community, died March 25, 2002, at
East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. Born in Scott County, February 9, 1922, he was preceded in death by his parents, JOHN and MARTHA ANN SEXTON JEFFERS; six brothers: LEON,
WOLFORD, MILFORD, ISHAM, MATTHEW (Mack), and JAMES JEFFERS; and four sisters:
LILLIE and LETTIE DUNCAN, LINNIE YOUNG, and MERTIE PERKINS. He was a member of Paint
Rock Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, BONNIE MARIE JEFFERS of the Paint Rock
community; three sons: DONALD JEFFERS and wife, LOUISE, of Oneida; DESTER JEFFERS, Jr. and
wife, WANDA, of Mason, Ohio; and DENNIS JEFFERS and wife, TINA, of Cincinnati, Ohio; two
daughters: JUDITH CALIGURI and husband, JACK, of Somerset, Ky., and
JEAN CAROLYN ANDERSON and husband, DAVID, of the Paint Rock community; 14 grandchildren Troy bonertand wife Missy Sommerset Ky, Lisa schutteand husband John of OH, Debbie Anderson of Paint Rock Community, Angela Hummer and husband Jerry of Cinn. OH, Jeffery Jeffers, Vince Jeffers, Brian Jeffers,Marcella Phillips and husband Millard of Paint Rock Community, Kyla Barton and husband Karol of OH. , Dennis Jeffers Jr AND wife Cristy of OH. . Dester Jeffer 3rd., Amanda Hornbuckle and husband Jedi of FLA., Jennifer Jeffers, and Benjamin Jeffers 20 great-grandchildren, one brother, VERNON JEFFERS of Oneida; one sister, PRINTY YANCEY of Revelo, Ky.; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted March 28, 2002, at Paint Rock Baptist Church with Rev. DEAN BARNES officiating. Music was provided by Paint Rock Baptist Church Choir, the Coffey Family, and ALLEN CARSON. Interment was conducted March 29 in Sexton Memorial Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
